Grasp the Majesty, Beauty, and Significance of God's Dwelling Places At various points in Israel's history, God dwelt in specific, significant places, most notably in the tabernacle and the temple. These structures, meticulously planned, extravagantly furnished, and regularly frequented by the devout, were more than just places of worship and sacrifice. They were pictures of God's relationship with his chosen people and of the atoning work that would be done by the Messiah. To understand the tabernacle and the temple, then, is to understand how we are brought into God's family through the sacrifice of his only Son, Jesus. Visually stunning and theologically rich, this full-color resource brings together the latest scholarship and archeological discoveries to bring God's dwelling places alive for modern believers. It places these important structures in their historical and theological contexts, connects them with the overall biblical story, and shows how they bring meaning and depth to the faith of Christians today.

This book looks into the life of each king in Jerusalem, and those in Samaria in the most logical manner. In the way they were recorded in scripture. Each king fulled one little part in God's prophetic timing. A timing and pattern this world is repeating today. The lives of those kings and the symbols involved either established or called attention to that pattern. Unlike other books of this nature, this book sticks to scripture for the answers. This book shows the world how God recorded answers in other books of the Bible generations before the questions were asked. In short, this book shows how God was in control every step of the way, and knew the outcome of every event long before details began to unfold. If only those kings knew how to go back to scripture for the answers they needed. Think of how the course of this world could have been changed. But human nature has always depended too much on itself, and not enough on the God who created this world.

This is the forth book in this series that began with an in-depth look at how God views details, communicates with this world, and decides what process to use. Of course this series of books looked at aspects recorded in scripture about the Tabernacle. How the materials were collected, specific design details, who did the work, and how the Tabernacle was constructed. Much of that information is found in dozens, maybe hundreds of other books about the Tabernacle. But there are details setting this book apart from every other book written about the Tabernacle. This book takes a verse by verse, story by story, chapter by chapter look at the Tabernacle. In other words, this book presents a picture of the Tabernacle from God's point of view. Which the beginning of this series pointed out, is much different than any human perspective.

Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly --mere infants in Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:1 God created mankind spiritual beings like Himself, and God's intention was to live forever with them. Because of man's rebellion against God, man died spiritually and now lives under the powerlessness of his soul --intellect, emotion, and will. Man's intellect gathers information from the senses of the body and processes it, his emotion decides what he desires to do, and his will carries out his soul's evil intent. Even though man was spiritually separated from Him, God still desired to live among His people. God's first dwelling place was a tent called the tabernacle, and His second dwelling place which replaced the tabernacle was the temple in Jerusalem. Both dwellings shared three distinct parts: the courtyard, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies --where God dwelt above the Ark. The tearing of the temple's curtain at Christ's death signifies God leaving the temple to dwell within man, His new sacred temple. Man's soul with its intellect, emotion, and will forms the new Holy Place and corresponds to the lampstand, the altar of incense, and the table of showbread. Man's re-born spirit with its intuition, conscience, and communion forms the new Holy of Holies and corresponds to Aaron's staff, the two stone tablets, and the gold jar of manna --all of which Moses placed in the Ark. Now through Christ man no longer has to live by the powerlessness of his soul because God dwells within man. The Holy Spirit's presence enables Christians to be spiritual, experiencing the power of Christ's resurrection. The intent of this book is for people to understand their past, identify their spiritual position, and grasp what God desires them to become.
