Enrique Olvera is the most famous and celebrated Mexican chef working today. Olvera's restaurant Pujol was ranked #1 in Mexico and #20 in the world at the World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards. This is his first book and the first ever high-end chef cookbook in English on Mexican cuisine. It captures and presents a new contemporary Mexican style of food, rooted in tradition but forward thinking in its modern approach. Olvera has pioneered and defined this new way of cooking and belongs to a global group of gourmet influencers that includes Noma's René Redzepi, Dom's Alex Attala, Osteria Francescana's Massimo Bottura and elBulli's legendary Ferran Adrià. Olvera rethinks how to use traditional, authentic local ingredients using unusual flavor combinations to create a reinvented way of cooking and eating. Mexico from the Inside Out includes both sophisticated and more accessible recipes to explain Enrique's philosophy, vision, and process. He is fueled by a constant exploration of Mexico's ingredients and culinary history, and inspired by his early family memories about food. This book goes beyond stereotypes to reveal new possibilities of Mexican cuisine, which is now an essential part of the international conversation about gastronomy. Features: –Over 65 recipes, each with an elegant photograph, from the sophisticated dishes served at Pujol to more accessible casual dishes that he enjoys with his family at home. –More than 100 atmospheric photographs capture the vivid mosaic of the Mexican landscape while tip-in pages bring the reader up close to Enrique's vision and philosophy about food. Mexico from the Inside Out is the latest addition to Phaidon's bestselling and influential collection of cookbooks by the world's most exciting chefs.

Domestic and foreign governments absorb countries to become super powers that wield nuclear weapons as tools for imperialistic motives. Jeff and Ann develop what the Department of Homeland Security describes as a super weapon of mass destruction and removes all stops to acquire Seeker for Homeland Securitys use as an offensive weapon. Ann, with her daughters, Annie and Hope, redefine Seeker and the system becomes Destiny, the new sheriff in town. Destiny is selectively used to stop world aggression resulting in Homeland Security relentlessly pursuing Ann and Jeff once again to steal the Seeker weapon. Homeland Security agents drive through the Academy fences crushing Jeff and Ann under the weight of the fence and vehicle while a second vehicle drives through another fence section and kills three Academy children and two parents. The Homeland Security agents make no apologies and hold themselves to be above the law when they act in the name of national security. Jeff and Ann survive and bring an end to world aggression and imperialism by all of the superpowers. Destiny temporarily shuts down the Internet and email capabilities while she uploads herself into the Internet and every computer that accesses the Internet. The seed for further action is planted with the hope that all countries will begin to respect the rights and liberties of other countries. If not, then Destiny will be back.

DESCRIPTION : My unstructured upbringing, and cares to the wind attitude, led to my frequent incarceration, from childhood to adulthood, it's a disturbing story, which is primarily aimed at the adult reading audience, who enjoy reading about reality situations and crime. I have always been a reader, and to a large extent, that helped me become a self taught person. Born on the banks of the Colorado River in Arizona, and raised up in the Marcos De Niza barrio projects in South Phoenix, I experienced the injustices of the cotton fields, Maricopa County Juvenile Detention Home, and Arizona State Industrial School at Fort Grant, Arizona. I wandered the desperate streets of Los Angeles, and the forlorn railroad tracks, alone, like a lost person without a purpose in life. I was locked up in the jails of Phoenix, and Los Angeles, before winding up in the California State penitentiary system. Upon my release, I struggled to stay out of the pen, and took the jobs that society at large would never want to take. Through numerous personal tragedies, incarcerations, and unfortunate circumstances, I lost control of my life. No one was ever able to change my destructive behavior. The changes when they occurred came from within me, when I could no longer cope, with the situations I had cast my self into. Looking back, I can now see what I couldn't see, during those hopeless time periods. I was very fortunate, to finally be able to leave that life behind me, through relationships that believed in me, and successfully worked, and built myself a civil service work career, from which I retired. I now spend my days enjoying life's simple pleasures, after all my previous tragic missteps. My objective in life now, is to become an accomplished writer.

DESCRIPTION : Having followed Mexico's cartels for years, border security expert Sylvia Longmire takes us deep into the heart of their world to witness a dangerous underground that will do whatever it takes to deliver drugs to a willing audience of American consumers. The cartels have grown increasingly bold in recent years, building submarines to move up the coast of Central America and digging elaborate tunnels that both move drugs north and carry cash and U.S. high-powered assault weapons back to fuel the drug war. Channeling her long experience working on border issues, Longmire brings to life the very real threat of Mexican cartels operating not just along the southwest border, but deep inside every corner of the United States. She also offers real solutions to the critical problems facing Mexico and the United States, including programs to deter youth in Mexico from joining the cartels and changing drug laws on both sides of the border.

DESCRIPTION : Mexico's presidential elections in July 2000 brought victory to National Action Party (PAN) candidate Vicente Fox and also the hope of democratic change after decades of single-party rule. Tracing the key themes and dynamics of a century of political development in Mexico, David Shirk explores the evolution of the party that ultimately became the vehicle for Fox's success. Shirk examines the factors that constrained democracy in postrevolutionary Mexico, as well as the protracted democratic transition that occurred over the last few decades. In the process, he shows that Fox's victory was also the triumph of a new Mexican politics in which voters, candidates, money, and media-driven campaigns not party leaders or machines drive political competition. Indeed, Fox's ability to bring democratic change to Mexico, Shirk demonstrates, has been fundamentally constrained by the very trends that brought him to power with enormous implications for Mexico's political present and future.
